	The sphynx May, 2004 acrylic on paper 70 x 100 cms A big piece of paper, flowing forms that are filled with a secret. The piece is typical of what I have been doing lately, turning the stuff of color and form into speculations about meaning. I ended up finding that the secrets of desire are everywhere, even in the Sphynx.
	Don Quixote 80 x 80 cms. Mar, 2004 Oil on Linen Artists are often Quixotes, battling for some truth no one else can see, looking back at myths that are real for them. At my age I also fulfill the older still searching part of the story, I miss a Sanch Panza and do not match the lean figure.
	encounter Mar, 2004 oil on fabriano paper Paper is a vehicle for ideas which I have returned to after seeing all the splendid pieces by artists as different as Lautrec, Degas and Liotard. The moment of contact with paper which is an 'encounter' seems just right for the meeting I panted-drew here.
	for Ngoc Jul, 2003 Oil on Linen 120 x 120 cms. About a young woman from Vietnam who told me about her world and her way of being, an artist with pre.victorian standards yet extremely experimental and daring in her work. An example of contradictions beyond my full understanding.
