Boating
Jun, 2009
Acrylic on Fabriano paper 70x 50 cms.

Birdlovers
May, 2009
oil on linen
Birdlovers is another example of my new 'impulsive' work. Maybe impulsive is not right, I always liked to mess up some of my surfaces and see what my 'undrawing' provoked in me. Now I am stopping sooner and letting my own ideas of suggested rather than dilineated, provoke the viewer.
Voyeurs in the Studio
Mar, 2009
Mixed technique on wood 2009
Voyeurs in the Studio 2009 On wood and with gilding I found the female and her gazing figures pertinent to what a lot of art has been about, an excuse to look at the forbidden.

Paul Gauguin in Tahiti
May, 2008
mixed technique
Paul Gauguin was a master of color and the speculation and research he applied in his painting is often overshadowed by the gossip about his personal life. One should remember that he fought the French exploitation of the Islands vigorously and paid for his moral stand! No one's life is as simple as the biographers tend to instill.
The New Studio
May, 2008
mixed technique
I have just moved into the new apartment in Florence and i have a new studio BUT not the extension into the garden which was blocked by a neighbor! This picture is about the non studio.
The Beach at Brela
May, 2008
acrylic and more
This grew out of a drawing I made in Croatia a year and a half ago. The protagonist is a voyeur who surveyed the women in a frighteningly predatory manner. Fortunately his 'victims' were unaware of his behavior. The fact that this occurred in a land that saw violence agaianst women on a horrifying scale added to my sense of disappointment with our human failure to progress at a level beyond the other animals. No, we are really worse.
"Romeo and Giulietta"
